Since his work in seminal Australian band Spot the Dog, Mark Cryle (guitar, mandolin, vocals) has been acclaimed by music journalists as one of Australia’s leading songwriters.
Mark’s work is held in such respect by his peers that he has recently been honoured by his musical community with a “tribute” cd on which other artists perform versions of his songs – I’ve Got a Heart.
When he isn’t playing his original music, Mark loves nothing more than to jump on stage with his long-time musical collaborator from Spot the Dog days, Richard Evans (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and play some of their favourite songs by The Beatles, Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Van Morrison, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, Steve Earle etc.
Between them Mark and Richard have a vast repertoire of songs and they can keep any crowd entertained, dancing and singing along. There are no computer tricks with this outfit. Just two first-class musicians who play from the heart and whose experience and virtuosity means they have the versatility to respond to the demands of an audience or a venue – to lay back or to up the tempo.
